PlOT
Kung fu comedy produced by Jackie Chan starring Lau Ga Yung, Lee Hoi San, and a guy I’ve never heard of before, Mang Chui. They are thieves, and as you can guess, they are after some gold, and they spend the whole movie searching for it.
thoughts on the movie

It moves along at a decent pace, has some good comedy, and the story is interesting enough so that you won’t have trouble waiting around for the next fight. The 3 leads give good performances, even this Mang Chui guy is competent performing the shapes choreography.

was it funny?
Yes. Not one of the best kung fu comedies, but pretty good quality humor.
How was the Action?
This is not one of the most fight filled movies you will ever see, but to me there was plenty of fighting (around 20 minutes). Melvin Wong, Chu Tiet Wo, Wilson Tong, Fung Hak On and the 3 leads all get to properly display their skills.
Standout performance(s)

Fung Hak On. His character reminds me of the role he played in Legend of a Fighter, which made me think he was just going to have a goofy fight or 2, but it was a nice surprise to see him tear up the screen in the final fight. Easily one of the best fights of his career.

Also Lee Hoi San. It was nice to see him in a comedic lead role where he actually gets to show his fighting skills, unlike Fist and Guts.

Buy or Pass
6 Reasons Why You Should BUY or PASS On This Movie
1. BUY if you like kung fu comedies.
2. PASS if you don’t like kung fu comedies.
3. BUY it for the all star cast taking part in fight scenes choreographed by Jackie Chan’s Stuntmen Association.
4. BUY to see one of Fung Hak On’s best fighting performances.
5. BUY to see Lee Hoi San in a good lead role.
6. BUY if you are a big fan of the late great Barry Wong. This was one of his first movies he did the script for.
FINAL NOTES

As of 11-23-2010, I’m pretty sure this is only available on VCD. But don’t let that stop you from getting it. The picture quality is very watchable. The burnt in subtitles are very hard to read on my small TV, but I watched it at a friend’s house who has a much bigger TV and I didn’t have a problem reading the subtitles there.
