WWE is getting desperate to keep their talents. They are now looking at talents whose contracts are expiring within the next few years and attempting to offer them five -year deals. Last year, both The Miz and Kevin Owens agreed to five-year extended deals. It all started with Dean Ambrose's announced departure this week as he will leave the company after WrestleMania XXXV and possibly considering All Elite Wrestling.

There's rumours and specualtion everywhere, team WWE are clearly worried about more than a few rival company T-Shirts, popping up on their show's.

Ricochet is being loaned out to EVOLVE for two live events in March. The NXT star got his start there and will be at the EVOLVE 123 & 124 to both compete and do meet and greets on the weekend of March 15 and 16 in New York City. (WWE)

There is some backstage heat between Nia Jax and current U.S. Champion R-Truth when she knocked him out as he was to have entered #30 at the Royal Rumble. Jerry Lawler said on his podcast that R-Truth legit went mad.

Ian Riccaboni signed a new deal with Ring of Honor, continuing his success as one of the company's best play by play commentators.

This match/event, took on a whole different status among fans, back when this kind of match, still retained some novelty/shock value to it. Before the Internet fandom even existed, before YouTube and Downloading, you had to obtain a copy, via fellow Tape Trader's, long after the event had been released official in Japan. Being a big Cactus Jack/Terry Funk fan, I had to obtain this event, which I did. Never really got into the whole extreme death match thing, this was probably the only event I watched from start to finish. To be honest, the whole event was pretty dire, with the exception of the final encounter. As much as the matches sucked, I sat there in disbeleif at what the Wrestlers, put themsevles through. A viewing eperience that you never really forget.

A fan, has synced up Mick Foley's(Cactus Jack) audio biography, with the section on this match, creating a commentary, by the man himself. It's a great idea, but at times Foley's words, are lost over the screaming/hyper-active fans Japanese fan's.

Terry Funk was well into his fifties here, close to picking up his bus pass, he was going to Japan and doing this, thats hardcore.

I'd like to hear Jim Cornettes commentary/thoughts on this show. It's like ECW put on show in the U.K, during their peak year's, while under the influence of some strong Acid.

Works well considering the "commentary" is from an audiobook.

And some how he was 73 in his most recent match in September of 2017, more than 20 years after that one.

You're welcome.

Penta 0M and Fenix are believed to be signing a deal with AEW in the near future. At an indie show in Georgia, the Lucha Bros. defeated SCU and were confronted by the Young Bucks, who told them they should join AEW to find out who the best tag team in the world is. Then, a group of other talents on the show attacked them but were fought off. The angle ended with a handshake.

Les-Thornton-2.jpg

Les Thornton, a former NWA Junior Heavyweight Champion and WWF star, died on February 1 at the age of 84.

Killian Dain might possibly be in hot water with WWE as he was stuck at home while Sanity partners Eric Young and Alexander Wolfe were with SmackDown and wife Nikki Cross was with Raw.

Erick Rowan has taken the role of "The New" Daniel Bryan's bodyguard while Luke Harper is still rehabbing and waiting to be cleared. It has been revealed that Rowan's new role was originally meant for Lars Sullivan. However, Sullivan, who was scheduled to appear on the main roster, had disappeared. He was found and he admitted to suffering from "anxiety issues" pertaining to being called up on the main roster. Sullivan was rumored to have a WrestleMania XXXV match with John Cena, but that looks unlikely as of now. (eWrestlingNews)

P.J. Black, formerly known as WWE Nexus member Justin Gabriel, has signed to join Ring of Honor and will make his debut on March 16th.

According to sources, All Elite Wrestling has two offers to consider as to who will get to air their promotion. One rumor is possibly somewhere within the Turner Networks. After all, many AEW stars attended last night's Super Bowl in Atlanta and Turner's HQ is in Atlanta. The other is unknown. (eWrestlingNews)

It was rumored that AJ Styles has signed a new deal with WWE, as his contract is set to expire in April. Styles has denied that he has signed and well, who knows where this will go.

Tonight on Monday Night Raw, Kurt Angle will address his future with WWE.

Nia Jax has responded to the rumors she has been getting real-life backstage heat for her incident with R-Truth at the Royal Rumble

Kevin Owens is slowly beginning the road to his comeback. He did a small match against Adam Cole this past Friday at the WWEPC in Orlando. It is believed he will make his return at WrestleMania XXXV.

At WWE Halftime Heat, the team of Aleister Black, Velveteen Dream, and Ricochet defeated the team of NXT Champion Tomasso Ciampa, NXT north American Champion Johnny Gargano, and Adam Cole.

Becky Lynch went ballistic when she was "suspended" when she refused to see doctors about her knee injury that she sustained at the Royal Rumble. She took it out on both Stephanie McMahon on Raw and Triple H on SmackDown

EC3 faced Dean Ambrose and defeated him in his first match on Raw

Paige emerged on Raw to promote her new biopic Fighting with My Family

I don't know what they did but they are apparently making rivals Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura a team?

Hideo Itami has officially left WWE. Here's a video about his departure

British superstar Jimmy Havoc has signed with All Elite Wrestling. After seeing this video, I have even more respect for Hangman Page.

Katsuya Kitamura is officially done with New Japan Pro Wrestling. He had been out of action since March 2018 with an injury. He was possibly offered a new contract this year, but opted not to sign it.

The Usos are believed to be considering not to re-sign with WWE when their contracts are up. WWE is concerned and are planning to attempt to make an offer to keep them there. It is unknown when their contracts are up.

Dean Ambrose is not the only talent who is frustrated with WWE and is already leaving after 'Mania. Speaking to Lillian Garcia on her podcast, Rusev and Lana are also airing out their frustrations and hope that the brass will eventually listen to them, or they will have to leave when their contracts are up. (See Rusev/Nakamura team-up above as perhaps an example of that "frustration")

There is rumor that after Randy Orton's contract is up in 2020 (he apparently signed a 10-year deal in 2010), he is open to talking with All Elite Wrestling.

Bullet Club member Tama Tonga was on a podcast and talked about which stars affiliated with WWE he would like to see join Bullet Club and he named The Revival:

“There’s a lot of talent, especially ones making a splash,” Tonga said. “Guys are wanting to leave certain companies… The Revival – those guys have piqued an interest. Those guys are great workers and I always watch their stuff… There’s a lot of indie promotions we look at, especially in Australia and England. But that’s pretty much under wraps for now.”

Looks like they will have Ambrose jobbing until the end of his contract.

This have been in the works just like they did "The Bar"  (Cesaro & Sheamus).

Shows how they appreciate all the hard works he's put in during his run. Looks lke theyve given female wrestler Nikki Cross, his old loose cannon gimmick, and just amped it up, to be even more OTT?. I only get this impression, from what I learn about WWE via this thread. If it wasnt for posts here, I'd barely know what was going off there.

The Usos' WWE contract expire in April 2019 as does AJ Styles. Both The Usos and Styles are currently negotiating deals that would allow them to stick with WWE as the company is getting desperate to keep their stars.

If you wonder why ultimately Braun Strowman got himself and Kurt Angle DQed on Monday Night Raw for their tag team match, it looks like WWE is enforcing a new rule for the tag team division. Here is from eWrestlingNews.com

"According to reports, WWE begun tightening down the rules on interference in tag-team matches during Monday night’s WWE RAW broadcast. During the broadcast, WWE announcer Corey Graves mentioned on commentary that tag-team matches would no longer allow partners to run in and make saves on a regular basis. The partners would only be allowed one such “save” before the team gets disqualified. This was the reason that Braun Strowman’s attack on Baron Corbin caused Strowman and Angle to get disqualified during the main event of the show.

Of course, all of this will be moot in certain circumstances as is WWE’s way. Match storylines will likely be scripted in such a way to allow the heels to do it behind the referee’s back, or during ref bumps and the like. The changes appear as if they may be part of WWE’s promise to The Revival that they would revamp the tag-team division and give it more focus going forward. This was reportedly done to keep them from leaving WWE, as they both recently asked for their WWE releases."

At Impact Wrestling's United We Stand, a former World Champion is returning...but who?

Rumored names currently listed include: Ken Shamrock, Rob Van Dam, Mr. Anderson, James Storm, Austin Aries, Bully Ray, Chris Sabin, Magnus and Alberto El Patrón.

A question asked is that now that Dean Ambrose is set to leave WWE in April, will his wife, Renee Young, leave the company as well. The answer is a resounding No! She plans to stay as commentator of the RAW Team. She hasn't asked for her release, but she does support her husband's decision either way.

April 15 & 16 will mark the annual WWE Superstar Shake-Up in Montreal, Canada.

Marty is still with Ring of Honor but until April. Then one can only guess he'll join the AEW team.
