WWE Monday Night Raw highlights

One of the best throwbacks during the Attitude era...What?...What?...What? Stone Cold...What?...Stone Cold....What?

John Cena may not be able to compete in the Royal Rumble this Sunday. He has suffered a possible ankle injury, which he made worse during a training session.

If you haven't seen the Authors of Pain on WWE TV lately, it is because Akam has suffered a leg injury.

It looks like we may see Woken Matt Hardy soon as he has apparently been cleared to return to in-ring action after a near career-ending injury.

WWE may have just made a booboo and announce The Undertaker as an inductee for the 2019 Hall of Fame, according to this Tweet. Granted it is around this time or right after the Royal Rumble they start announcing the HOF inductees, but this was wow.

According to this reportBrock Lesnar personally asked Vince McMahon to have Finn Balor challenge him at the Royal Rumble. They were supposed to have a match at last year's Rumble, but McMahon didn't have faith in Balor as a main-eventer. Now, looks like things have changed.

Maria Bennett has made things clear, she nor her husband Mike is leaving WWE. She posted the following in Instagram

Michelle McCool was asked by a fan on Twitter if she would be willing to reunite LayCool for the new Women's Tag Team titles. McCool said all they have do is ask Layla El, who did respond via Twitter:

It shame we didnt get the NWA come-back, about twenty year's ago, only so Terry Funk could have had one last shot at the title.

@AlbertV, I'd like your second opinion on this one, is Kiera Hogan's Angel on Fire t-shirt, in the picture below, inspired by the 1995 Hong Kong movie of the same name?, starring Cynthia Khan and Phillip Ko?

For Royal Rumble weekend, Daniel Bryan did a kayfabe interview with Phoenix area TV station ABC15.

Meanwhile NJPW's New Beginning USA tour has been derailed by the government shutdown. The visa process did not get done on time so the only Japanese talent appearing is Tomoyuki Oka, who flew in from England. He will be using the Great O-Kharn gimmick.

Former UFC and current Bellator competitor Frank Mir will make his pro wrestling debut at Josh Barnett's Bloodsport show put on by GCW. That is scheduled for April 4 in Jersey City, NJ.

AEW has signed Jungle Boy.

Jeff Jarrett and The Road Dogg reunited at last night's RAW with Road Dogg singing that "classic" song "With My Baby Tonight". Funny enough, Road Dogg broke kayfabe when he heard the crowd yell "Holy s**t" and said this was a family show and he said, "I apologize to everyone in the back!" Jarrett has recently signed a new contract with WWE that will have him booked as an agent, producer, and an on-camera talent. Joining Jarrett as agent/producers are Shane Helms and Sonjay Dutt. The trio joins the aforementioned Road Dogg and Billy Kidman as agents/producers. Abyss has also joined WWE in a backstage role. Of course, it all started when Jarrett made an appearance at the Royal Rumble only to have Elias smash him with the guitar and eliminate him.

With Becky Lynch losing her chance to regain the SmackDown Women's Title at the Royal Rumble, she redeemed herself by winning the Women's Royal Rumble and she has chosen to face Ronda Rousey for the Raw Women's Title at WrestleMania

As expected, Seth Rollins will be taking on Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania.

Bea Priestley turned down an offer from WWE and it now looks like All Elite Wrestling is gunning to sign her!

Jacob Fatu, the son of Sam "The Tonga Kid" Fatu, will make his wrestling debut this weekend at MLW Superfight.

Apparently, Dean Ambros has handed in his notice with WWE. His contract is up in April and he recently turned down more money to stay with the company. I wonder where he'll end up.

I'm not surprised. I liked the comical gags he did back a few years ago (plus I did like his film debut for WWE, 12 Rounds 3), but his recent heel turn was a pitiful attempt to make him look like Bane from The Dark Knight Rises. Plus I think last night's RAW finally set him off (see videos below). Maybe he will go "Double or Nothing" after WWE? I can see him as a potential talent for All Elite Wrestling.

Another former WWE star is returning. Shawn Daivari will be joining the company in a backstage role. His brother Ariya is on the 205 Live Roster. Shawn was the manager of Muhammad Hassan during that controversial period before breaking out on his own. He would later join IMPACT, ROH, and Lucha Underground. He is also the co-owner of a wresting school in Minnesota alongside Ken Anderson (formerly Mr. Kennedy).

Trent Baretta and Chuckie T are leaving New Japan Pro Wrestling. It is rumored they will eventually be a part of the roster of All Elite Wrestling.

As @OpiumKungFuCracker mentioned in his last post, Hideo Itami has asked for his release from WWE and should they accept, he will have to wait 90 days before he can sign with another company, but he has reverted his Twitter name to KENTA (the name he used before joining WWE).

It looks like both WWE and AEW are gunning for another star. Who? Matt Sydal, who had a run in WWE as Evan Bourne. Sydal is currently out of action after knee surgery and begins rehab this week.

Another superstar currently on the shelves is WWE star Ember Moon, who suffered an elbow injury that will require emergency surgery.

Renee Young took to Instagram to comment on husband Dean Ambrose's upcoming departure from WWE in April. Rumors are that thanks to his friendship with Chris Jericho and Cody, Ambrose might consider heading to AEW.

With the presence of AEW, looming over the Pro-Wresting business this year, means everyone's eye's will be on any talent, leaving thier current contracts in 2019, wether its with Ring of Honor, IMPACT Wrestling, NJPW, WWE etc etc.

Welcome to the jungle, the preview for this week's all action eidtion of IMPACT Wrestling.

Matt Bloom, formerly known as Prince Albert, A-Train, and Tenzan, has been promoted by WWE as not only the Head Coach at the Performance Center, but he is now Vice President of Talent Development.

And speaking of WWE talents, Killian Dain and Alexander Wolfe took to Twitter to pretty much they are getting fed up with being used sparingly on the main roster. The last time they were used was on December 18th Smackdown as part of a 8-man Tag Team match.

WWE announcer Scott Stanford, a mainstay on New York's WPIX-11's news team, left WPIX after 5 and a half years.

WWE is getting desperate to keep their talents. They are now looking at talents whose contracts are expiring within the next few years and attempting to offer them five -year deals. Last year, both The Miz and Kevin Owens agreed to five-year extended deals. It all started with Dean Ambrose's announced departure this week as he will leave the company after WrestleMania XXXV and possibly considering All Elite Wrestling.
