RIP Shinobu Hashimoto, screenwriter for Akira Kurosawa

Shinobu Hashimoto, a Japanese screenwriter, died in Tokyo on July 19, 2018, from pneumonia.  He was 100 years old.  He was a writer on Rashomon (screenplay, 1950), Ikiru (1952), Seven Samurai (screenplay, 1954), Throne of Blood (screenplay, 1957), The Hidden Fortress (1958), The Bad Sleep Well (1960), Harakiri (screenplay, 1962), Samurai Assassin (screenplay, 1965), The Sword of Doom (screenplay, 1966), Samurai Rebellion (1967), Samurai Banners (1969), Hitokiri (screenplay, 1969), Dodes'ka-den (screenplay, 1970), Tidal Wave (1973), and Village of Eight Gravestones (screenplay, 1977),  He wrote more than 70 screenplays, including many Kurosawa classics, and continued as a screenwriter until suffering a stroke in his 90s.  Sources - IMDB and https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/shinobu-hashimoto-dead-screenwriter-seven-samurai-rashomon-was-100-1128623
