I think there is just 2-3 guys working in 88films

I think that there are more than that.

So far I have placed 4 orders with them and each time they have been picked/packed by a different person - Alex, llko, Liliana & Trakevs.

If other forum members stuff have been picked/packed by other workers then they have a bigger staff.

Can be recruited more in not so distant future, sth like 6-7 months ago they said in fb page just few guys in company. Or then spokesman did not count mail order department into that amount.

88 Films is asking on Facebook whether the fans would be happy for them to get rid of the dual format releases

I don't think that it's a good idea to get rid of the dual format, because if it happens that the blu ray doesn't work, at least, there is the dvd to compensate...And it may happens that the dvds aren't available anywhere and that people buy the dual format without having a blu ray player just in order to get the dvd (it was my case a little while ago...before Christmas , when I bought a portable blu rays player with a screen !! :bs_coveredlaugh: )...

Most likely those are people that work at the fulfillment/shipping company that 88 Films uses. The return address on my package is from a company called James House, which I looked up and they do fullfillment.

Still haven't gotten an email about MA.

Looks like the next movie will be the Oily Maniac on July 24th. This is great news, I think this will be the first HD release of this movie. If it's not an upscale then I think they must have made an HD master recently. Hope that means they're continuing upgrading their SD titles

So, if they follow releasing formula so far, #10 should be also non-martial arts film. But I really wish it`s not case although I would welcome some decent ghost story flick like "haunted tales"...

The address you mention is the same shown on their site in the contact us section, surely the "direct" address to them...

They sent me an automated message telling me that they received the returned item, and they also replied to the message I had sent them using their contact form...They are in progress...:bs_coveredlaugh:

I'll admit; I kicked up a bit of a fuss. They asked me to return "Killer Constable" and, in return, they'd refund e the shipping charges. I told them how disappointed I was and that it was an inconvenience to return the film. So, I explained that I would keep the original film and place another order for "Masked Avengers".

They were kind enough to give me free shipping on my "Masked Avengers" re-order. That's a nice chunk of change I'm saving!

:monk_laughing: Ok, today I received an email from them asking if I could return the movie and they would pay for the postage. And, then they went on to say that  they would then send out Masked Avengers. However, I received an email a few days ago saying that my order for Masked Avengers had shipped via Royal Mail. So, which is it? Are they holding Masked Avengers hostage until I return the incorrect disc they sent or has my order shipped? What a bunch of BS! I ordered from them in good faith, they screwed up and now it is possible that they may not send me what I ordered to begin with? I don't get it! I have no problem sending it back if they are paying for postage but don't hold what I originally ordered as hostage. I`m going to see what I can afford to spend on shipping. I can't spend more than the cost of the movie itself, otherwise, I will be out some cash if they only refund me the postage. Otherwise, they may end up owing me a free movie. Otherwise, I may have to go back and put in a dispute with my cc company. Such a mess!

Got the same reply as everyone and sent the package back. Should be getting a refund for the shipping so it shouldn't end up costing anything but the gas to go to the post office above and beyond the original price.

I'm glad it all worked out, but I was starting to get pissed that there was no communication for such a long time, leaving everyone in the dark as to what was happening.

Funny thing is I probably should have held on to Killer Constable, sealed with a slipcase, and sold it on ebay a year from now for one million dollars.

Got mine today(+delirium). Quality looks great, viewed some previews from here and there and watched quite interesting Godfrey Ho interview.

Wish they would include interview to future releases also..

They emailed me today and told me that, including "Oily Maniac", they have picked up ten more titles.

I told therm that I had heard about the 10 titles on a forum and asked which ones it were and they asked me " what are the 10 titles ? "...:bs_firey::monk_crying:

For those who were asking why there was a square missing on their cardboard slipcases - well, apparently, that's were the security tag goes when they are sold in shops, to stop people stealing them.

Mystery solved!

But the slips are exclusive to their website when one pre-orders and 300 seems to be the amount they have made. Those should not be sold in stores. And, Killer Constable does not have a cut-out on its side.

May I ask what your source was on that information? And, I don't see how a security tag could fit on the box like that. All one would have to do it slip the thing off.

Someone who runs a retail store told me.

I presume the people pressing the slips just automatically put that square hole in?  Not sure about that one.

Not sure how they do it in other parts of the world but here in the USA the security tag is placed inside the DVD/BD case and then it is de-activated at the register when someone buy the movie.

Yep, I check all the different tags that I have and none would fit.

If they were to place a tag in that area then it would be under the slipcase and then there would be no need to make a cut.

They also told me that they will refund the return shipping charge and also gave me a coupon code for free shipping for Masked Avenger. However, I already re-ordered "Masked Avenger" as well as "Seeding" and both had already been shipped by the time they responded. I now have a shipping code to use on something else.

I think this might be it?

The Magnetic "red tags", I forgot all about these I haven't seen them in ages (10 years or so). I thought that they stopped using them.

After finding out they have ten more titles on the horizon, I asked them the ratio of horror to kung fu. They just responded back with "About half and half". So, we can look forward to about four or five kung fu films coming from them.
