KUNG FU BOB

LONE WOLF & CUB and ONE ARMED BOXER Shirts & Art

Recommended Posts

Greetings Kung Fu Brothers and Sisters, and welcome to Spring!

Today I'm launching not one, but two designs. My third and fourth 36 Styles shirt designs are here...

To start out, it's the subject of our first Japanese film-themed 36 Styles shirt ever produced. My newest Lone Wolf & Cub/Babycart Series/ SHOGUN ASSASSIN art...

LONE WOLF & CUB- "THE CUT"

...design is available as full color Prints & Posters of my original drawing, in three sizes. (Sorry for the low-rez photo of the drawing, but I have to do it this way)

p>

Next up it

ONE ARMED BOXER

...in all his glory. Here's Jimmy, fist blackened from Iron Fist training, wearing his famous headband, and tattered, mid-fight clothes. To Jimmy's left is the film's title, and below that his name, in Chinese characters. This is a 5 color design- white, light gray, medium gray, black, and Red. This design is available on 27 tee-shirt colors, and various other shirt styles.

To order the shirts, please go here: http://www.shaolinchamber36.com/

For the shirts click on the "36 STYLES SHIRTS" tab.

For Prints & Posters click on the "KUNG FU BOB'S ART" tab.

ShaolinChamber36.com is your spot for kung fu prints & posters, shirts, news and reviews!

COMING SOON: There will be prints and posters of my ONE ARMED BOXER painting and THE 36TH CHAMBER OF SHAOLIN "Movie Poster" drawing available soon. The artwork for these is much more complex than my shirt designs, and is in full-color, and features a lot more action, characters, etc.

Thanks for looking.

Peace,

Bob and Ray (aka. ShaolinChamber36)

I expected Zaitoichi or Sonny Chiba for the Japanese design, but still good job there.

The Wang Yu design is really cool, but somehow I went "where did I see this before ?"... Well, on one DVD I own... Duh !!

picture.php?albumid=244&pictureid=7450

I like the way it looks on black, so I guess I'll consider getting it in my next 36 Styles purchase.

Both of those are coming too. :nerd:

You're not a Lone Wolf & Cub fan?

When I did that cover I painted all the images separately. I knew that some people would be interested in certain films on the set, but not all of them, and this way I could still have them individually. I've added more to the ONE ARMED BOXER painting to make it it's own poster for the film. Almost finished...

Your support of 36 Styles is appreciated brother.

Not familiar with LW&C at all, barely heard of it except for here. But TBH, I'm not really into Japanese cinema, except for Godzilla and Gamera.

Well if anything was going to get you into Japanese cinema, this would probably be it. If you get a chance, check out SHOGUN ASSASSIN. It's an English dubbed, re-edit of the first two films from the LONE WOLF & CUB six film series. And this is coming from a guy that owns every Godzilla and Gamera film, and has a Godzilla 1964 figure atop his computer desk. :nerd:

Nice designs Bob, I thought it was going to be Lady Snowblood.

Thanks man. Ah! That's a good idea. Love LADY SNOWBLOOD.

Take my money now!

Gladly.

"The Cut." Would make Chang Cheh smile....

I take that as a HUGE compliment. You should get shirts of this for the kids, bro. :xd:

I'm hoping to order OAB in black soon. Looks amazing. LW&C looks great too but not my style.

Thanks man. I knew the LW&C one wouldn't be for everyone. I'm thinking it's going to be a big hit for family barbecues though.

I'd love to have the LW&C if I was a normal person. But if I wore it I can picture people saying "I knew that guy was a sicko. I knew it"!

The LW&C one is amazing! I think I will order it at some point in the future. It will be perfect to wear while watching 1970s genre stuff in cinemas in Tokyo.

Oh, and really looking forward to Chiba T-shirt! Suggestion: the theme could be something else that The Street Fighter, e.g. the Oyama trilogy. Just a suggestion, though.

I understand, I really do. When I was around 20, and extremely into horror films, I was asked to leave a pizza place because my shirt was disturbing other customers. It was a shirt I'd made of THE BEYOND... the little girl with red pigtails, with a giant smoking hole blown through her head from a .357 Magnum slug. Of course since I knew she had been a zombie, to me it made it okay.

Awesome work as usual KFB. When kung-fu movie fans dream, they dream of you.

 Damn, thanks man.

Sorry Morgoth, I'm only available in white, blame my parents.

We do all blame your parents, but it has nothing to do with your color! Aw... I know you just gave me such a nice compliment, but the setup was so perfect, I couldn't resist taking the shot. LOL You know I only jest, with brotherly love.

The thought of that makes me very happy!

I understand that you don't want "the obvious" choice. But since THE STREETFIGHTER is one of my all-time favorite films, as Daniel Day Lewis might say- There WILL be blood... on my absolutely-going-to-happen STREETFIGHTER shirt. :bigsmile:But still... I have several Chiba-san designs sketched out, and they will include other classics of his.

Yeah, I agree the LW&C design is kinda gruesome - but at least it's IMO neither too graphic nor too ridiculous in the gore, which is nice. :yociexpress01:

Seems like people get less offended with - and basically react less to - colorful shirts in my area. I haven't receive any feedback from people about the 36 Styles shirts I have, except for the gold ones which my father found made me hard to miss (wearing those with yellow Vans probably doesn't help), and today a lady - who must have been like twice my age - seemed to like my Drunken Master shirt as I noticed she couldn't stop looking at it - guess whoever (I think it was on this forum, or maybe on the forum at shaolinchamber36.com ?) mentionned chicks liked him even more when he was wearing a 36 Styles shirt was right.

Dude, WTF ?! And I thought some of the metal gear I wore in my teens was disturbing...

Is some training necessary before wearing this shirt ? I don't mean just watching the films (which I haven't seen, obviously), but also preparing to constantly tell people that this shirt has nothing to do with a certain famous Capcom video game (although said video game is the first thing I think of when I hear the words "street fighter").

Great new designs Bob, I recently re-watched Shogun Assassin in HD and still love it. I really wish shipping costs were not so high. Otherwise Id have picked up some of these shirts already. They need to start stocking the 36 Style T-shirts in shops in Britain.

Personally, I think that for what Lone Wolf's enemies did to him, he was kind of lenient in his revenge. LOL

That's a great endorsement for 36 Styles! "These shirts WILL attract the opposite sex to you in droves!"

I get quite a few people commenting on the shirts, and catch people looking at them like that too. I was surprised when a very young guy at a local deli even knew who Billy Chong was. :nerd:

Dude, WTF ?! And I thought some of the metal gear I wore in my teens was disturbing...

I know, right? :crossedlips: I started out as a friendly, happy-go-lucky-guy, but after a shitty event in my life I had a few... I guess you could say "dark years" where I just wanted people to stay away from me. Wearing these shirts was a small part of that I guess. Fortunately I found my "happy thoughts" again, and returned to my normal self again.

Some of the other NOT-family friendly shirts I made and wore included TOMBS OF THE BLIND DEAD, CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST (featuring a gut-munching cannibal), STORY OF RICKY, THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, TAXI DRIVER, ALIEN (the chestburster!), GATES OF HELL, HELLRAISER...

Funny story: I got my own place at 17, but used to drive over to my parents' house to do my laundry. Of course, I was spoiled, and Mom almost always said "Just leave it here and I'll do it for you." One day when I visited, I walk in and my Mom starts slapping me in the head and saying "What's wrong with you? Is this how we raised you?!" :ooh: I had no idea what I had done. :squigglemouth: Then she holds up my A CLOCKWORK ORANGE shirt- which showed Alex (Malcom McDowell) threatenigly holding the giant ceramic art/penis, the end splattered in blood- and shook it angrily at me. "Do you wear this in public?!" she asked. "What do you think?" I said, trying to look innocent. "Do you really think I would wear that outside of my apartment?" I inquired with my most incredulous tone. Then this sweet, tiny woman, about 14" shorter than me, looked up at me, raised her fist up, and said "You better not, or I will knock you out! You'll never be too big for me to put you down boy." So, safe to say... she did not, uh... approve of that shirt. I'm just glad she didn't see the other A CLOCKWORK ORANGE shirt I'd made, which featured a certain statue of tap-dancing figures, depicted in my design in rainbow colors. I'm sure she would've stomped my ass over that! :xd: LOL

When they see it, no one in their right mind will make that mistake. And if they somehow do, I suggest taking a cue from Chiba-san's character, and tearing a random body part off of them in response to their query.

Thanks man.

I know shipping is costly to the UK, but just so you know, we only charge the actual cost. Best way for you to get them is to buy several at once, shipping winds up cheaper that way in the long run.

I never cease to be amazed by Bob's artwork and now that they are printed on quality shirts........this is like Christmas in April!!

The designs are amazing....the LW&C is grusomely awesome but not the point of being too much....it's just the right amount!!

The OAB is amazing and I love the intensity you captured in the image Bob and painting the parts seperately is a stroke of genius for other options such as this.

I know what I'm getting for my anniversary....some 36 Styles Shirts!!!!

I understand its not due to you guys making the prices steep. The last item I sent to America cost me a lot of money in shipping charges. The shipping cost three times what the actual item was worth.

LOL Well, I decided to always do this when working on these "cover art" projects, because I had to only use stuff from the movies that were included on those specific sets. And some of what was included people might not particularly want art of (like THE TATTOOED DRAGON for instance), and other things were missing. Like on a Jimmy Wang Yu "collage" for instance, there's no way I would exclude THE ONE ARMED SWORDSMAN or MASTER OF THE FLYING GUILLOTINE. And for an Angela Mao "collage" I would want to have ENTER THE DRAGON and HAPKIDO. With how slowly I draw and paint, I would not want to have to re-paint the same images again either!

I know what I'm getting for my anniversary....some 36 Styles Shirts!!!!

Cool. Please wear them to class and get us some more customers.

I have friends in the UK, Ireland, Switzerland, Australia, etc that I ship stuff back and forth with, and the shipping costs ARE outrageous!

What can I say,Bob?KILLER work on the Itto Ogami&One-Armed Boxer tees!

Thanks bro!

This thread has me thinking, a Zatoichi meets the One Armed Swordsman shirt would be pretty sweet. Add it to the list of requests:wink:

Will do! Thanks for the suggestion.

Re shipping: when I ordered my shirts from 36 Styles, the shipping fee (to France) was pretty much the price of another shirt. :squigglemouth: But buying more shirts makes it easier to swallow though, as paying 20/25 bucks for shipping when buying $80+ worth of shirts didn't sound that bad of a deal.
