    Vanguard (2019)

Usually, when it is not an American production, they are not too concerned with how well Jackie speaks English. Jackie can speak good English when he is talking to a crowd or an individual but that's because his words are not predetermined by words on a page. On his US movies, directors will film many takes of his lines to make him sound more fluent. Especially in the case of the Rush Hour movies and The Protector. I think the English lines in his Chinese films are normally two takes at most. Jackie dubbing his voice in his movies has always been good except for with Police Story 2013. I had a very hard time understanding what Jackie was saying. Watching it in the original language was fine but I had to rely on what other characters were saying to figure out what was going on in the dubbed version.

    Vanguard (2019)

Agreed. His only good trailer since The Foreigner and the last trailer I liked of his before that was for Police Story 2013. What seems to benefit a movie like this is that it's light-hearted in stark contrast to its topic but can amp up its own kind of seriousness through the shooting and firepower, you know, a glimpse at the thin line between life and death.

    Vanguard (2019)

I think that this trailer above is really cool. I just don't know why it's so zoomed out. It shows lots of new footage and I really like all of the car chase stuff.

I don't hate Kung Fu Yoga either. There was just a handful of good moments now and then wrapped up in a poor movie.

    Vanguard (2019)

I liked everything about the trailer except that there is another CGI lion. It Stills looks like a great flick and I thought that that the stairs joke was rehashed but done in a funny way. They are being smart with this trailer by not giving too much away because the teaser gave us glimpses at a bunch of things that are barely touched upon in this trailer. The trailer gives me no worries about the overall quality.

    Vanguard (2019)

Stanley Tong said in an interview that the movie would kind of act as a showcase for the younger talent. So, Jackie will just be focused on just enough to be considered the star. Also, both of these featurettes are sort of like character bios so I'm pretty sure Jackie will get his own featurette at some point.

Jackie Chan's: Five Against A Bullet

I was excited to see another article about new information concerning Five Against the Bullet. Then, I started reading the article and my hopes for this movie were crushed. Firstly, Cat Kwan completely rewrote the script. I thought Joe Carnahan's script would be the key to this film's success because not only was the script supposed to contain wild action but the idea that one of the bodyguards was a mole working for the enemy really intrigued me. A suspenseful action flick with a mystery surrounding the identity of the mole sounded great. Now, the script has been written again and it has went through too many hands. I think they are writing themselves into a conventional corner. Secondly, there's little if any chance that Stallone or the Rock or any of the other big action stars will appear in this now, what with the current situation. Thirdly, Jackie bought back the rights to the movie from most of those involved but Sony Pictures is still present. Normally, this would be a good thing but this was meant to be a quite different movie. Without these other voices speaking out, it gives an idea like this limited scope. Jackie will rely on what works and not push the envelope here. The Foreigner was great because it was a truly collaborative effort that allowed Jackie to break new ground and show his abilities within the framework of great storytelling. Everyone worked together. Jackie helped them and they helped Jackie. So, those are my reasons. I'm not asking you to agree and I didn't mean to offend anyone by saying I thought it was going to suck I'm really looking forward to seeing Vanguard though. The teaser and featurette look fun and it looks like a good flick.

Dragon Claws, I don't really know but I think Dwayne Johnson could be a potential bodyguard due to his long association with Sony Pictures but this is just a personal theory.

Jackie Chan's: Five Against A Bullet

Five Against the Bullet is back on track. Apparently, the writers fixed the problem Jackie had with the script. The crew are currently location scouting and the casting is in progress but other stars have yet to be announced. Jackie should be heading to Mexico sometime within the next few months to film the movie. It is rumoured that director Jeffrey Nachmanoff has been replaced by Tony Chan but this has yet to be confirmed. A snapshot of Tony Chan and Jun He and other possible stuntmen and crew members has appeared online recently. The picture was taken in Mexico. At the Golden Rooster Awards, Jackie announced two other movie projects: Grand Marshall and Chinese Zodiac 2 which might be directed by Zheng Xu of Lost in Thailand fame.

Just as I suspected. The official release date is confirmed as January 25 2020. This is according to the film's official Weibo account which should be safe from inaccuracies.

    Vanguard (2019)

According to Jackie Chan France, the movie My Mercenary Career will now co star Jackie Chan where before he was just producing it. The basic synopsis of the movie seems like an amalgamation of Vanguard and Project X. Jackie Chan France is quite reliable but still take this with a grain of salt. I've heard from "official" sources that Vanguard comes out in 2021 but early 2020 seems like a better bet to me.
