  1. I'm hoping for the same. They've always been fantastic movies, but they really stepped their game up with Ninja 2. Ninja 2 belongs up there with your In the Line of Duty 4's and your Yes, Madam's. It's their masterpiece, and most of that has to do with the choreography. Love tricking, and I hope they keep doing it, but exchanges are the meat and potatoes of martial arts films. I hope they keep it up. The trailer looks fantastic, and I'm glad they've changed things up a bit. (Did I see Boyka fire a gun?) Nice to see them moving forward. I did, however, just find out Florentine's not directing this one, Todor Chapkanov is. But all signs point to the man totally knowing what he's doing.

Lone Wolf & Cub Coming From Criterion

Just saw Shogun Assassin for the first time a few months ago and I've seen an actual Lone Wolf & Cub. I guess now would be a great time to start.
  3. "Sammo Hung and Yasuaki Kurata" Que? Say again? I think I just shat myself. And it looks like it's Vincent Zhao. I could be wrong.
  4. I haven't seen Drunken Master in a while, but I think I'm okay with going with Young Master here. It's fucking fantastic. And I can't tell you how hard I laughed at Jackie scaring the goldfish out of its bowl! I think I was laughing at myself for thinking it was so funny as much as I was the actual scene.

    Re:Born (2015) - Tak Sakaguchi is Back!

Oh yeah, man. I'm SO game for this.
  6. I wouldn't go as far as to call it a classic. I think it's gained "classic" status because it's been so hard to get a hold of. It's got some choice fight scenes (like the aforementioned fight with Pops), and it's 80's HK, through-and-through, but Warriors Two, it is not. I'd still buy it though, lol. I'm going to, when I have the money.
  7. That also confirms that they are, in fact, going to be DVD-R's. What's everybody's beef with their DVD-R's? Are they really that bad?
  8. I think it's actually somewhere in-between being as bad as everyone says it is and a decent 80's Hong Kong movie. It's nothing special, but I had enough fun that I wasn't mad at myself for watching it. It had the same "everything AND the kitchen sink" mentality that got me hooked as a kid in the first place. But it is disappointing if you're looking to compare it to Donnie's other modern Fu flicks.
  9. I'll follow that up with a question - Police Story 2 or 3? Police Story 3's even more stunt-based, but I like it more, oddly enough. I think it'd have been even better had Philip Kwok actually made his way into the movie. That's near the top of my list of throwdowns that have only happened in my dreams.
  10. That's always been my only complaint, really. It's a great ending. I love it, I really do. But it's missing some good-old-fashioned fisticuffs.

LOVE 'em! Especially the Magnificent Butcher tee. Nice to see a Sammo shirt, and I need one immediately. I refuse to wear anything with Dean Shek on it though lol.

    Veteran (2015) - Directed by Ryoo Seung-wan

Yeah, I saw that. It was pretty funny in a couple of spots. I hope he never gives up making action movies though. And is there any word on a DVD yet? Buying the new Ryoo Seung-wan or Kim Jee-woon movie is kind of a Christmas tradition for me, when possible.
  13. I don't know, but I saw it on Kozo's twitter page and thought it was hilarious, personally. But it's definitely pumped me up. Didn't know we were getting Big Bullet and Blade of Fury too. I have a Mandarin-dubbed copy of Blade of Fury that I haven't watched (because I'm still iffy about the Mandarin) and the old Pedicab Driver VHS, but I'm gonna buy these anyway. I might just buy the old Big Bullet DVD on eBay though. I can probably get it cheaper than 20 bucks.
  14. Okay, so, the idea of JC and Martin Campbell doing a movie together is actually a pretty exciting proposition to me. But why, oh why, must he always have a partner? I mean, I know why, but that doesn't make it any less irritating.
