The Man Who Kills Trouble 解決師

Why TVB Insists On Airing “The Man Who Kills Trouble” At This TimeThe TVB anniversary drama The Man Who Kills Trouble <解決師> covers a very sensitive topic. With approval ratings for the Hong Kong Police Force at an all-time low, it seemed a little strange, even insensitive, for TVB to broadcast a drama that centers on the heroics of the HK police. But The Man Who Kills Trouble isn’t what it appears to be. It tells the story of Karson (played by Vincent Wong 王浩信), a former member of an Australia-based Chinese triad who carries out assignments that “cleans” the triad of its problems. His girlfriend Chloe (played by Kelly Cheung 張曦雯) convinces him of a better life outside of the triad. Karson agrees to leave that life behind, until Chloe dies of a horrible accident, and the triad accuses Karson of killing the boss. Karson escapes to Hong Kong, takes up a new identity, and works as a physical education teacher at a high school. He befriends the high school teacher Jovy (played by Natalie Tong 唐詩詠), who turns out to be the daughter of triad leader Chiang To (played by Law Lok-lam 羅樂林). Chiang To is willing to leave his underground life behind, but finds it difficult to complete break away due to his history. Karson has no choice but to step in as the school’s “fixer”, defending it from enemies. It is a very familiar genre. Stories about the police and organized crime have always been TVB’s forte. Dramas such as Line Walker <使徒行者> and E.U. <學警狙擊> have released successful sequels and spin-offs, and while this genre is nothing new, audiences are just as eager to take it all in again. TVB has confidence in The Man Who Kills Trouble for delivering solid entertainment. Vincent Wong is another reason why TVB insists on airing The Man Who Kills Trouble. The TV King has been releasing representative work each year, starting from 2015’s Brick Slaves <樓奴>. Last year’s Fist Fight <兄弟>, an anniversary drama that also starred Vincent, was a huge hit, solidifying Vincent’s status as TVB’s top-earning lead actor. The Man Who Kills Trouble, produced by Lau Ka-ho (劉家豪), also features guest stars Ha Yu (夏雨) and Michael Tong (唐文龍). https://www.jaynestars.com/news/why-tvb-insists-on-airing-the-man-who-kills-trouble-at-this-time/
  2. Director Talks About Problems Filming Flying Tiger 2 There's no such thing as too many cop dramas and after becoming a hit last year, Flying Tiger 飞虎之潜行极战 is about to return. Shaw Brothers and Youku have partnered up once more on the new series and introduced the cast in a press conference held last November. This year, the Flying Tiger 2 飞虎之雷霆极战 cast and production team have gathered for another press conference. Original cast members Michael Miu, Bosco Wong, Ron Ng, Oscar Leong, Michael Wong and Joel Chan return for the sequel along with new faces like Kenneth Ma, Lawrence Ng, Jacky Cai, Christine Kuo, Jennifer Yu and Kelly Cheung. Hollywood actor Lee Pace will also have a guest appearance.Producer/director Cha Chuen Yee revealed to the audience some of the troubles they had while shooting. When Bosco Wong was injured on set, he had to have an operation and had to rely on a walking stick afterwards. He went back to filming as soon as he could to avoid delaying the production schedule. Cha Chuen Yee also said that he had to apply for different kinds of permits in order to film in Hong Kong.Cha Chuen Yee mentions that the government is too bureaucratic and tangled in red tape that the filing for permits is a slow agonizing process which eats away at production time. He says that they usually had to shoot a scene either on a holiday or a Sunday so as not to inconvenience people with the noise and traffic the shoot would generate. Cha also says that government offices wasn't able to process their permits since the offices don't have work on Sundays. Permits will be processed the next day, resulting in more delays. Nonetheless, last year's Flying Tiger was filled with explosive and grandiose action scenes that it certainly seems like they know what they're doing. Check out the newest trailer. Are you looking forward to watching it? http://www.dramapanda.com/2019/03/director-talks-about-problems-filming.html?m=1

Fortunately, I only sustained bruises.” The drama stars Raymond Lam as the PTU officer Ko Ka-sing, who used to be an undercover cop. Despite his differences with PTU sergeant Ho Wai-ling (Charlene Choi) and team leader Lau Kin-fai (Alex Fong), the trio make a formidable team. https://www.jaynestars.com/news/raymond-lam-and-charlene-chois-ptu-competes-against-tvb/

  12. The Hong Kong entertainment industry has seen the likes of several “rags-to-riches” star in recent years. Although encircled by the glitz and glamour of her career successes, Kara Wai’s (惠英紅) rise to stardom did not come easily. The 59-year-old award-winning actress was once quoted saying, “[What I’ve gone through in] my life is equal to two times someone else’s life.” In a recent interview, Kara noted five major events in her life that may be even more sensational than what could be depicted on screen. Incident #1: Working as a “Dancing Girl” at a Night Club It is no secret that Kara had a rough childhood. Coming from a poverty-stricken home, Kara started working at a young age to help alleviate her family’s financial burden. At just 14 years old, Kara secretly quit school and worked at a nightclub performing song and dance. This unfortunate event paved way for her eventual debut in the entertainment industry. Through this job, Kara met Chinese filmmaker, Chang Cheh (張徹) and joined Shaw Brothers Studio. At 17 years old, Kara was selected to play “Mu Nianci” in the film adaptation of The Legend of the Condor Heroes <射雕英雄傳>. Incident #2: Complaining to Chinese Film Director Richard Li Prior to joining Shaw Brothers, Kara had written letters and sent portfolio photos of herself to Chinese film director, Richard Li (李翰祥), and expressed her desire to become an actress. However, she never got a response. Later, when she had the opportunity to film one of Richard’s movies, she approached him about the incident, claiming that she had to spend quite a sum of money to take those portfolio pictures. She brazenly scolded Richard that she was scammed by the director himself. This resulted in Richard deciding to cast her in the role of the maid, “She Yue”, in The Dream of the Red Chamber <金玉良緣紅樓夢> film. Incident #3: Taking on a Lead Role Initially, Kara only had a supporting role in director Lau Kar Leung’s (劉家良) 1977 action film, Dirty Ho(爛頭何). However, the actress who was supposed to play the female lead backed out due to the intense and grueling action scenes. Lau Kar Leung then noticed Kara and cast her, noting her performance in action scenes and her work ethic. This began their long-standing collaboration through the years. Incident #4: Having Been Jailed Once revealed that she was once jailed for violating regulations when she and her mother were in the business of buying and selling older homes. At the time of arrest, Kara’s mother even put up a fight and resisted the police. This resulted in the mother and daughter spending several days in jail. Incident #5: Forcing Mona Fong to Increase her Salary In 1982, Kara received her first Best Actress award for her role in My Young Auntie <長輩>. With the newfound recognition, Kara met with Mona Fong (方逸華), who was married to the chairman of Shaw Brothers Studio and Television Broadcasts Limited, Sir Run Run Shaw (邵逸夫), and requested a raise. Initially met with rejection from Mona, Kara threatened to challenge the legitimacy of her artiste contract, as it had been signed by her elder sister at the time. In the end, Kara got what she wished for and received a $10,000 HKD raise. Through this incident, Kara realized that she must rely on herself to get what she wants and not let others dictate her life. https://www.jaynestars.com/news/kara-wais-shocking-revelation-she-was-once-jailed/
  13. TVB to Release Miniseries “PTU 2019” In Celebration of HKPF’s 175th Year PTU 2019 stars Mat Yeung (楊明), Sisley Choi (蔡思貝), Max Cheung (張達倫), and Alvin Ng (伍富橋). Collaborating with the Hong Kong Police Force for the first time in television history, the TVB miniseries PTU 2019 <機動部隊2019> was produced in celebration of the 175th anniversary of the Hong Kong Police Force. 3-hour film told in four episodes, PTU 2019 is produced by Jacky Lee (李志倫), who worked in collaboration with the Hong Kong Police Force to tell a story centered on the Police Tactical Unit, the police force’s disaster response and riot control unit. Nearly 100 real Hong Kong police officers were mobilized for the filming of PTU 2019. Jacky Lee shared that the cases being covered in the miniseries is based on real life events. He said, “Prior to filming this series, we had many long meetings with the PPRB (Police Public Relations Branch) to talk about the cases that many police officers would encounter in real life. Our consensus is that we must present these stories to the audience as realistic as possible. Like everyone else, policemen and women are normal human beings. They have their own lives and their own relationships. PTU 2019 focuses on the inner turmoil and emotions of these police officers. It is meant to be a show about humanity.” PTU 2019 spent four months in pre-production, in which a large portion of it was researching into real-life events. “The police force were available to support us through this process,” said the producer. We were given more freedom on what we could include in our stories.” https://www.jaynestars.com/news/tvb-to-release-miniseries-ptu-2019-in-celebration-of-hkpfs-175th-year/

Social media access has also been curbed to restrict "wrong information" spreading in the country of 21 million people. There was no immediate claim of responsibility but the government said eight people had been arrested. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said "so far the names that have come up are local," but that investigators would look into whether the attackers had any "overseas links". Mr Gunasekera said the police were investigating whether suicide bombers were involved in all of the blasts. In a video on his Twitter account, Sri Lanka's State Minister for Defence Ruwan Wijewardene said the country's Criminal Investigations Department is working with the police and the military to investigate the attacks. "We believe that all the culprits who have been involved in this unfortunate terrorist incident will be taken into custody as soon as possible," he said, adding that suspects have been identified. 'A LOT OF FEAR' Documents seen by AFP show that Sri Lanka's police chief Pujuth Jayasundara issued an intelligence alert to top officers 10 days ago, warning that suicide bombers planned to hit "prominent churches". "A foreign intelligence agency has reported that the NTJ (National Thowheeth Jama'ath) is planning to carry out suicide attacks targeting prominent churches as well as the Indian high commission in Colombo," the alert said. The NTJ is a radical Muslim group in Sri Lanka that was linked last year to the vandalisation of Buddhist statues. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe acknowledged that "information was there" about possible attacks and that an investigation would look into "why adequate precautions were not taken". Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe acknowledged that "information was there" about possible attacks and that an investigation would look into "why adequate precautions were not taken". Ethnic and religious violence has plagued Sri Lanka for decades, with a 37-year conflict with Tamil rebels followed by an upswing in recent years in clashes between the Buddhist majority and Muslims. Catholics make up around six per cent of the island nation's population, which is a patchwork of different religious and ethnic groups dominated by Buddhist Sinhalese. While there have been attacks on Christians, their community had been left relatively unscathed until now. Rucki Fernando, a Christian Sri Lankan, told AFP: "We haven't experienced anything like this in the last 10 years." Eight explosions in hotels and churches were reported on Sunday. A police official said at least 45 people had been killed in Colombo, where three hotels and a church were hit. At least 160 people injured in the St Anthony's blast had been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital by mid-morning, an official told AFP. "A bomb attack to our church, please come and help if your family members are there," read a post in English on the Facebook page of the St Sebastian's Church at Katuwapitiya in Negombo. Shortly after those blasts were reported, police confirmed three hotels in the capital had also been hit, along with a church in the town of Batticalao, in the east of the country. At least one of the victims was killed in Colombo's Cinnamon Grand Hotel, near the prime minister's official residence, where the blast ripped through a restaurant, a hotel official told AFP. VICTIMS Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed there were no Singaporean casualties after the attacks. Police said 35 foreigners were among the dead, including American, British, Chinese, Dutch and Portuguese citizens. Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj said three Indians were killed, while Washington and London also confirmed an unspecified number of their nationals were among the dead. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo confirmed that "several US citizens" were killed. The US Embassy is working tirelessly to provide all possible assistance to the American citizens affected by the attacks and their families." 15. Sorry, Sammi': HK singer Andy Hui apologises after he was caught cheating on pop star wife SINGAPORE (ANN): Hong Kong singer Andy Hui has said he is "very disgusting" after he was caught cheating on his superstar wife Sammi Cheng, known for pop classics like Worth It (1996). Hui confessed at a press conference held at a Hong Kong hotel on Tuesday night (April 16), admitting to a dalliance with 30-year-old TVB actress and former Miss Hong Kong first runner-up Jacqueline Wong. He also said he will put his work activities on hold until he finds his "real and right self". He was caught on camera holding hands and kissing in the backseat of a taxi with Wong. Known for such hits as Who Can I Love (2002), he has been married to Cheng, 46, since 2014. The two do not have children. Wong and fellow TVB actor Kenneth Ma, 45, have been dating since 2017. The clip was uploaded by Hong Kong's Apple Daily News on Tuesday afternoon. Hours later, Hui, 51, showed up for a tearful seven-minute appearance. He kept his head bowed throughout and swallowed a sob before apologising to his wife of five years, saying: "Sorry, Sammi." He began the press conference with a deep bow and said: "I want to apologise to my family, Sammi's family, friends and people who love me. Because I did what I cannot make up for, something that will not be forgiven." Through bouts of crying, Hui explained: "I drank a lot that night but I feel that being drunk is definitely not an excuse to do something so wrong. I am very regretful, I find it hard to face myself and accept myself. After I saw the report, I found myself very shameful, very wrong, very bad, very disgusting and very unfamiliar. I reflected on why I could not control my lust." In the reportedly 16-minute video that was leaked, Hui and Wong initially share a cab with another man, who alighted first. Before the man exits the cab, Hui can be heard assuring the man that he and Wong will go home separately. After the man leaves, however, Hui and Wong provide only one location to the driver and begin holding hands. At one point, Wong leans over to kiss Hui and his hand rests on her thigh. According to Hong Kong media, they later left the cab together. While Hui did not comment on his wife's reaction or their marital status going forward, he said: "I hope that in the future, everyone I hurt, everyone I pained, can be well." As his speech neared the end, he said: "I have no soul. I am a broken man. I hope everyone can give me time to find myself. " He gave another deep bow and left, ignoring all follow-up questions from reporters. Following the bombshell news, netizens have flooded Hui's Instagram page to express their anger and disappointment, with many asking him to quit the entertainment industry. He posted a similar apology around 7pm on his Instagram with a picture of a black background. Wong has disabled comments on her Instagram page, which has more than 600,000 followers. Cheng's latest Instagram post on Sunday about an eye care supplement has garnered more than 3,300 comments - mostly posted on Tuesday - asking her to stay strong, with some encouraging her to leave Hui. Hui and Cheng have had a dramatic love affair for close to 30 years. Cheng, also known for her acting in movies like Love On A Diet (2001), began dating Hui in 1991 after they recorded the duet Actually, Do You Have Me In Your Heart. The two broke up in 2004 but after seven years apart, the couple reconciled in 2011 and finally got hitched in 2014 after Hui proposed in 2013. Their relationship was once described by comedian Dayo Wong as "Hong Kong's last fairy tale". – The Straits Times/Asia News Network h https://www.thestar.com.my/news/regional/2019/04/17/sorry-sammi-hk-singer-andy-hui-apologises-after-he-was-caught-cheating-on-pop-star-wife/
  16. Chow Yun Fat Continues Filming Despite Head Wound While filming an action and chasing scene for the new Hong Kong film, Sun Years <驕陽歲月>, Chow Yun Fat (周潤發) was unfortunately injured on set. However, the 63-year-old disregarded his wound and continued to film the scene to its completion before motioning for medical attention. Once the scene successfully concluded, Chow Yun Fat gripped the open wound on his head and asked if there were any medical professionals on set. With blood dripping down his face, he found his own way to a chair and calmly asked for a towel to compress the wound and clean water to wash it. Despite his injuries, he continued to reassure his worried costars and the behind-the-scenes staff not to worry and that he was fine. A staff member parted his long hair, which was grown out for his role in the movie, and inspected the wound. They decided that it was best for him to head to the hospital for stitches. As he walked off the set still gripping on his head wound, Chow Yun Fat continued to show his professionalism and said to the director, “Why don’t you film the scene on this side first? I’ll go get stitched up and come back so we can continue filming.” At the hospital, the cut was found to be more than an inch long and required five stitches. Because he had gotten hurt on set while filming, there is a high chance of infection as well. Chow Yun Fat quickly asked the doctor, “I still need to go back on set to continue filming. There are quite a lot of scenes left. Can I get the stitches without cutting my hair?” The doctor was able to stitch up the wound and remove as little of his hair as possible. After getting some food, Chow Yun Fat returned to set and continued filming. 20. Dicky Cheung’s “The Learning Curve of a Warlord” Premieres with Rave Reviews It’s been a long time coming. Dicky Cheung’s (張衛健) last Cantonese-language drama was 2002’s The Monkey King: Quest for the Sutra <齊天大聖孫悟空>, and when TVB announced The Learning Curve of a Warlord <大帥哥> in early 2017, fans rejoiced for the collaboration. There were some delays and postponements for the the series, and after nearly two years in the making, TVB finally released the highly anticipated series this week. With Dicky Cheung leading a cast comprised of Sisley Choi (蔡思貝), Tony Hung (洪永城), Raymond Cho (曹永廉), Vivien Yeo (楊秀惠), Tsui Wing (徐榮), Oscar Li (李嘉), Jessica Kan (簡淑兒), Jerry Ku (古明華), and Max Cheung (張達倫), The Learning Curve of a Warlord is set in post-Qing China and chronicles the journey of a man who uses his wits and sharp verbal skills to become one of the most powerful warlords of his region. After holding their breaths for so long, fans of Dicky were finally given room to breathe after the premiere of Warlord earlier this week. Aside from Dicky’s performance, many of his supporting actors also performed well, and had richly developed characterization. Warlord is produced by Tsui Ching-hong (徐正康), who also produced many of Dayo Wong’s (黃子華) iconic works including War of the Genders <男親女愛> and To Catch the Uncatchable <棟篤神探>, all characterized by a storytelling style that is carried by one to two lead characters and many strong supporting characters.
