  1. The festival cut was uploaded at ADC before it was shutdown. Luckily I managed to leech and burn it on disc (still have it) before the shutdown.

    The Hong Kong Bluray/UHD Thread

More Sammo Hung in HD... Keep 'em coming! 😁
  3. I thinking because Jet's real voice was too light for an emperor? A heavy voice for such a character would be fitting in this case.
  4. Yeah, feeling the same. This may be more than your typical zany LNY movies that Wong Jing is synonomous with. Especially when you have Donnie involved as lead actor, producer, and action director. That said, the action visuals in the trailer... Wow. Looks like the movie will have a wide set of different action set-pieces. Variety. This is something I crave for in action movies nowadays. BuyBust, John Wick 3. Fingers crossed that the movie will have the same pattern!
  5. Looks like Well Go USA will be releasing the movie in UHD format! Not sure if WGU has released other titles in UHD. But if not, then this will mark their first UHD release and adapting to the current home video format. https://www.amazon.com/Ip-Man-4-The-Finale-4K-Blu-ray/dp/B0833XLZD3?tag=bluray-000-20&linkCode=xm2&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER
  6. There's already rumors of spin-offs to the official series. A sequel to Master Z, one spin-off that will focus on Yue Wu's character, and most popular one that will turn into a Bruce Lee biopic continuing Bruce Lee's progression in America to his success in Hong Kong. Don't take my words for it, these are just rumors.
  7. The majority of the movie is set in Japan, so most likely a Japanese guy. I don't think it will be nationalistic/xenophobic though because it's an action comedy directed by Japanese action director/stuntman Kenji Tanigaki.

Asian DVD Club is no more...

Great find! Just signed up. Awaiting the new site to be up soon.
  9. Woo Ping directed Master Z while his brother Shun Yee was the main action director. Shun Yee was involved with the action in Ip Man 4 but as action choreographer.
  10. I'm all for an HD version of The Champions. I've got an excellent custom of the remastered DVD but it's time for an HD upgrade.
  11. The fighting's got that Flash Point vibe to it. I'm really liking it!

To all John Woo enthusiasts, his 1976 musical Princess Chang Ping will be released on bluray by Panorama on Christmas Eve. https://www.dddhouse.com/v3/product_details.php?ProductID=17262
  13. If the story will be anything like a mix of all previous entries of the franchise with its' own additions and flavor, then I won't mind. Donnie and team are going all-in with this after all, so I'm sure there will be something that would stand out in the story beyond the xenophobia and kung fu movie conventions.
