  1. I think I still might have my VHS copy somewhere, but it's been quite a while since I've last seen it.
  2. Now here is some interesting news...a sequel series to the 1984 hit film The Karate Kid is in the works and will be exclusively seen on YouTube Red. The kicker: The series, entitled Cobra Kai, will star original Karate Kid Ralph Macchio and Billy Zabka, who are reprising their roles of Daniel and Johnny. The ten-episode, half-hour series is set thirty years after the events of the 1984 film. A down-and-out Johnny Lawrence (Zabka) seeks redemption by reopening the Cobra Kai karate dojo. This reignites his rivalry with the successful Daniel LaRusso (Macchio), who has been struggling to maintain a life balance without the guidance of his late mentor Mr. Miyagi. “Hot Tub Time Machine” scribe Josh Heald and “Harold & Kumar” creators Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg will pen and executive produce the series which is being made by Sony Pictures Television Studios and Overbrook Entertainment. Hurwitz and Schlossberg will direct much of the series while James Lassiter and Caleeb Pinkett will also executive produce. I may have to get YouTube Red just for this http://www.darkhorizons.com/original-karate-kid-gets-a-sequel-series/
  3. I think it's Godfathers of Fury http://hkmdb.com/db/movies/view.mhtml?id=9501&display_set=eng
  4. Ben Affleck will return to the role of the 40+ year old Bruce Wayne and his alter ego, The Batman, in a solo film in which he is not only starring in, but will be directing and is co-writing with DC Entertainment President Geoff Johns. The major villain of this film is going to be the assassin Slade Wilson, also known as Deathstroke. Joe Mangianello has signed on to the play the villain of the film that all began with a surprise video from Affleck himself. Affleck has revealed that the film will begin shooting this coming Spring for a 2018 release date. Meanwhile, look for Affleck to return to Batman next year with Justice League.
  5. Newcomer Jayme Lawson has scored an undisclosed key role in The Batman. This is her first major role after graduating from Julliard. I can take one guess who she might play and I'm going to take a wild one at that: I think she may play Barbara Gordon, daughter of Commissioner Gordon (Jeffrey Wright)
  6. DC is starting a new streaming service next year and one of the titles announced is Titans, a live-action version of the Teen Titans, with a bit of a twist. Brenton Thwaites has been cast in the role of Dick Grayson, who as Nightwing, forms a team of new superheroes including Raven (Teagan Croft) and Starfire (Anna Diop). Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly play the duo of Hawk and Dove, an offensive/defense couple who are vigilantes and Lindsay Gort as Bludhaven detective Amy Rohrbach, who is also Dick Grayson's partner. The character of Beast Boy is expected to appear, but has not been cast yet. The series was originally set to premiere on TNT in 2016 but they opted not to go along with it, so it will now be on DC's new service.

He used the move first in house shows in Shanghai, but this is the first time seen on WWE TV. Bandido has had offers from WWE, All Elite Wrestling, and Ring of Honor...he has opted to sign with Ring of Honor. Kevin Owens is gearing for his return and it has been revealed he lost some pounds. It has been long rumored that Vince McMahon was unhappy with Owens' weight and now that he had his surgery and is in training, it looks like Owens is going to make his return soon. Perhaps, the Royal Rumble? Also back in training is Braun Strowman, who is back in the gym after his successful elbow surgery It has been rumored that the reason that Paige has been removed from her post as WWE Smackdown GM is because she will be doing heavy press for her upcoming biopic Fighting with My Family, starring Florence Pugh as Paige and Dwayne Johnson as himself.

    Pro Wrestling Thread 2019

On Thursday night, a drunk Jimmy Havoc got into a physical fight with Excalibur at a restaurant while the AEW team were celebrating Tony Schiavone's birthday. It started with the two exchanging verbal grabs but it got physical and even was taken outside. Since then, both of them talked out their issues and the heat was done. Havoc was remorseful about what happened. AEW's Tony Khan had this to say: “I wouldn’t call it a fight, I’ve seen a lot worse in the world of football, both in England and the NFL — I’ve seen a lot worse, and I saw a lot worse tonight. They scrapped around and it was cool yesterday.” It looks like WWE's trio of Japanese female stars have now gone from babyfaces to heels. Io Shirai is excited about her new heel turn as she feels she has been able to be more confident. “To the fans, my character changed suddenly. But I took a long time to think about it and it was a gradual process for me. When I came to WWE, I wanted to try out something different. They already had Asuka and Kairi (Sane). So, I wanted to show something new. I wanted to show a new side of Japanese woman wrestlers. I have mainly been a babyface in my career but I wanted to make a big change. This has given me more confidence. The heel turn has added a lot of new things to my character and that has certainly boosted my confidence. I came with a different role but this change has been a boost for me.” A few weeks ago, Kairi Sane and Asuka turned on their manager Paige when Asuka pulled a Tajiri and spit green mist in her face on SmackDown. After his final session and eventual closing of his Storm Wrestling Academy in December, Lance Storm will begin his new career at WWE as a producer. Anthony Carelli, who is better known as former WWE superstar Santino Marella, has been named Official Ambassador of Judo Canada.

  15. Now that it is official that he will be included in the 2022 sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, let's take a look at the Japanese Spider-Man series, which began a 3-year partnership between Marvel and Japan's Toei Company. The series stars Shinji Todo as Takeru Yamashiro, a motocross racer who finds a shooting star and his father, a space archaelogist, is killed during his investigation. Takeru discovers the shooting star is a spaceship called The Marveller. Upon his arrival, Takeru meets Garia, the last survivor of the destroyed Planet Spider. For 400 years, Garia has attempted to stop the ones responsible for destroying his home, Professor Monster and his Cross Army. As he is dying, Garia injects some of his blood in Takeru and gives him a bracelet which gives him both the Spider Protector (his suit) and Spider-String (their version of his webbing). As the heroic Spider-Man, Takeru possesses a car known as the GP-7 and in addition, the Marveller has the ability to change into the mecha warrior Leopordon. With his newfound powers, Takeru as Spider-Man faces off against Professor Monster and the Cross Army. The series ran from May 1978 to March 1979 and its success led to Marvel's attempt to give Toei an adaptation of Captain America that would evolve in the now official third Super Sentai Series, Battle Fever J. The series was officially the beginning of the S3 but Himitsu Sentai Goranger and JAKQ Dengekitai would be considered as part of the S3 in 1994 by Toei. Marvel and Toei would collaborate on two more Super Sentai Series, 1980's Denshi Sentai Denjiman and Taiyo Sentai Sun Vulcan. This "Honest Trailer" shows his dark the Japanese Spider-Man series was:

  19. With two of her lead roles, Lady Bloodfight and Female Fight Club (Squad) released and soon to be released (depending on where you are), it is time to appreciate the lovely Amy Johnston! Martial arts is in her blood as her father is former kickboxing champion David Johnston. She's worked primarily as a stunt performer, doubling at times for Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow in the Marvel Universe and even played Harley Quinn on an episode of "Super Power Beat Down". Amy is well versed in various forms of martial arts, beginning with her father's "progessive" style, a meshing of kenpo, taekwondo, kung fu, kickboxing and arnis. She's also studied wushu, Wing Chun, and Jiu-Jitsu. Amy as Android 18 in Dragon Ball Z: The Light of Hope
  20. Reports are emerging that after he will retain the rights to his baby The Terminator, James Cameron will be producing what will be the final film of the entire saga, putting an end to the prolific battle between the human race and Skynet. 21. Jon Favreau has joined the Star Wars universe as writer and executive producer of a new spin-off TV series entitled The Mandalorian. The series acts as a bridge between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. Casting is currently underway with two names already set: Pedro Pascal will play the lone gunfighter and in an unspecified role is former MMA fighter turned actor Gina Carano Dave Filoni, Taika Waititi, Rick Famuyiwa, Deborah Chow and Bryce Dallas Howard will all direct episodes, which will premiere in 2019 on Disney+, the new Disney streaming service. http://www.darkhorizons.com/pedro-pascal-to-lead-the-mandalorian/ http://www.darkhorizons.com/carano-joins-star-wars-series-mandalorian/
  22. After the end of Supernatural after 15 seasons, Jared Padalecki has signed on to star in an updated reboot of the hit series Walker: Texas Ranger. In this one, Cordell Walker is a broken widower who after a high-profile undercover case for two years returns home to Austin to find more work needs to be done at home. He partners up with one of the only female Rangers in history to accomplish his missions at home. Right now, it is still in development. Right now, there's no network attached but the CW may be a possibility. Padalecki learned martial arts for Supernatural and actually used them in a real-life bar fight when he and co-star Jensen Ackles took on a group of drunk goons who mistook the duo for harassing a young woman, who turned out was a big fan of the series. (Look at #12 on this list - https://www.thethings.com/15-times-jensen-ackles-and-jared-padalecki-were-the-real-life-winchester-bros/) https://deadline.com/2019/09/walker-texas-ranger-reboot-jared-padalecki-in-the-works-chuck-norris-1202741160/
  23. Hey everyone, As most of you may know, Japan's Super Sentai Series has been the foundation for well, let's face it, The Power Ranger series since its inception in 1993 when "Zyuranger" became "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. I actually got to see the actual Japanese series of some of these and found it to be much better than their Americanized versions. Here are two of my favorites: 1994's Ninja Sentai Kakuranger - Kane Kosugi appears in the series as the Black Ninja Ranger, Japanese-American ninja Jiraiya. In a highlight episode, he takes on real dad Sho Kosugi. Kane's Ranger double was Tsutomu Kitagawa, who is perhaps best known for playing Godzilla from 1999-2004. The American version would be Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers, when the Power Rangers were under a spell and became kids and their friends from another planet became the Rangers. 2007's Jyuken Sentai Gekiranger - Chinese kung fu becomes the art of the Rangers in the latest adaptation of the Super Sentai. There's GekiRed (Tiger Fist), GekiBlue (Jaguar Fist), and GekiYellow (Cheetah Fist). They added two more Rangers, GekiViolet (Wolf Fist) and GekiChopper (Rhino Fist). Those who watch Jetix will know that this is the new Power Rangers: Jungle Fury. Just for the record, both have kick ass theme songs..the Japanese versions IMO.
