  2. https://deadline.com/2018/09/halle-berry-bruised-movie-mma-director-star-1202456723/ Halle Berry, wrapping her role in John Wick: Parabellum, is set to make her directorial debut on a new MMA drama entitled Bruised. Written by Michelle Rosenfarb, the plot follows Jackie “Justice,” a disgraced MMA fighter who has failed at the one thing she’s ever been good at – fighting. When 6-year-old Manny, the son she walked out on years ago, returns to her doorstep, Jackie has to conquer her own demons, face one of the fiercest rising stars of the MMA world, and ultimately fight to become the mother this kid deserves. Production begins in March 2019.
  3. What in the blue hell? Once again, Universal is releasing another unnecessary sequel. This time, it's a sequel to the 1996 action-comedy Bulletproof, which starred Damon Wayans and Adam Sandler as FBI agent Jack Keats and ex-con Archie Moses who are forced to team up when Keats, after busting Moses, now must protect him as a witness against mob boss Colton. Now the characters are reunited, but they are now played by Faizon Love as Keats and Kirk Fox as Moses. Special Agent Jack Keats is assigned to take down a powerful South African crime family. Begrudgingly Carter assumes the identity of Archie Moses, a criminal with crucial ties to the case, but more notably the person who accidentally shot him in the head 25 years earlier. When a meeting between two cartel syndicates goes horribly wrong, the real Moses gets unwittingly put in danger. Carter and Moses must figure out how to stay alive while trying to foil an international multi-million-dollar money laundering scheme. Now, I have to admit...this only picks my interest because I like Faizon Love in films like Bebe's Kids, Friday, and Who's Your Caddy and Kirk Fox made for some good comic relief when needed in the short-lived TV adaptation of Rush Hour. The film is coming out on January 7, 2020 on DVD and Blu-Ray. https://videoeta.com/items/219284-bulletproof-2
  4. He does...he only fights in an opening scene and then the big finale scene. But it's so funny watching him in the platforms then cutting to him sporting the Adidas when he throws kicks. I was laughing so much at it.

  7. Gwi-Soo (Kwon Sang-Woo) loses everything by playing the strategy board game Go. With the help of his Go teacher Heo Il-Do (Kim Sung-Kyun) and teacher Ddong (Kim Hee-Won), Gwi-Soo jumps into the high stakes betting Go game. He goes up against masters from all over the country including Busan Weeds (Heo Sung-Tae), Loner (Woo Do-Hwan), Shaman Jangsung (Won Hyun-Joon) and others.
  8. From Deadline Danny Trejo (Machete), Billy Zane (Titanic), Randy Couture (The Expendables), and James Russo (Django Unchained) have signed to star in actioner The Protector from filmmaker Justin Lee (Badland). Legion XIII’s Daemon Hillin, Justin Lee, and Melanie Young are producing with Vasily Bernhardt of TB Films executive producing. Ed Morrone (White Collar) is leading the film as protagonist Mickey Rome, an ageing protection specialist who is ready to holster his guns and head for retirement. When the agency he works for demands one last job be done, Mickey obliges and is sent to Central America to watch a husband and wife who have stolen $8m from a ruthless crime family. Doctor Drew Pinsky (Loveline), Johnny Messner (Tears Of The Sun) and Eddie FInlay (2 Fast 2 Furious) are also in the cast. “This movie is a fun throwback to films from the 80s like Lethal Weapon, Midnight Run and 48 Hours. It has action. It has comedy. It has dark moments. It was such a joy to get to work in a space I love so much with phenomenal talent. I can’t wait for everyone to see Ed Morrone as Mickey,” said director Lee.
  9. I saw the film yesterday and I actually enjoyed it. There is a nice little twist to the story, which now has Kwon Sang-woo seeking revenge for those who are responsible for his life unraveling as a kid by challenging them to the game of Go (like in the original film). The final challenge is quite a delight to watch because it was quite unexpected. The film hits select theaters nationwide tomorrow. https://worldfilmgeek.com/2019/11/21/the-divine-move-2-the-wrathful-2019/

  13. OMG! What the hell did I watch? Not only was this very unnecessary, but MJW was pretty much wasted. He's only in the opening sequence and final act doing his thing (with the occasional Obi-Wan appearance in the middle), but the middle was more an attempt to launch actor/comedian Vince Swann (as UB's brother Lionel) but the script is just very bad. Only good things scriptwise? Gary Owen is funny as Militant Brother and Barry Bostwick as The Man. MJW when he does fight, goes from platform shoes to white Adidas sneakers (error) then when it comes to the stunts, back to platforms. Chris Brewster did a good job with the action. But overall, we didn't ask for it...and didn't need it. Stick with Black Dynamite.
  14. Michael goes into werewolf mode for War Wolves John Saxon got to say a line from Enter the Dragon to Tim Thomerson when Thomerson has interest in Adrienne Barbeau: "A woman like that could teach you a lot about yourself." I saw it when it first came out but I might revisit it eventually.
  15. A new Kingsman is in the works with Matthew Vaughn directing. However, don't expect a new adventure for lead hero Eggsy...at least not yet! Taron Egerton announced he will not be in the film because the film will actually be a prequel, which will revolve around the formation of the Kingsman Secret Service Agency. On the plus side, Ralph Fiennes will be in the new film as well as Harris Dickerson. The film will be set in World War I and will feature a new teenage character named Conrad, to be played by Dickinson, with Fiennes as his potential mentor. A November 9, 2019 release date has been set. http://collider.com/kingsman-3-taron-edgerton/#images http://www.darkhorizons.com/taron-egerton-isnt-in-kingsman-3/
  16. This past weekend, I got my youngest daughter hooked on the 13-episode TV series Ultraman: The Ultimate Hero, known in Japan as Ultraman Powered. The series stars an 18-year old Kane Kosugi as Kane Kosugi, a member of the WINR space team, which consists of Kai, Captain Edlund (Harrison Page), pilots Julie Young (Robyn Bliley) and Rick Sanders (Rob Roy Fitzgerald) and researcher Theresa Beck (Sandra Guibord). When Kai and Young investigate a mysterious light's arrival, while Young leaves, Kai finds himself immersed in the spotlight where he learns an alien battalion is on the way and Kai agrees to become the human host of Ultraman to stop the evil threats. Stuntman Scott Rogers played Ultraman in the action scenes and one of the visual effects experts on the show is Shinji Higuchi of Shin Godzilla fame. Joe Viskocil, who would coordinate the White House explosion of Independence Day and the Hong Kong Convention Center explosion in Gen-X Cops, served as visual effects supervisor on the series. Here is an on-set photo: It would be the only American series in the Ultraman series, preceded by Australia's entry, Ultraman: Towards the Future aka Ultraman Great. In 2007, co-star Robyn Bliley did an interview, which was posted last year on Vantage Point Interviews. Today, she is a director and producer, focusing mainly on music TV specials and commercials.https://vantagepointinterviews.com/2018/07/01/shes-a-winr-actress-robyn-bliley-shares-her-memories-of-ultraman-the-ultimate-hero/

And let's not forget the White Tiger debacle. The film was shot just prior to Joe Lewis' death but we didn't get the film until nearly 5 years later because there was something with the production rights and it led Karen Kaing to I'm guessing sue George Tan and when she won, she received sole producer credit on the film and the film would be renamed Death Fighter from the distributor.

    RIP Chen Sing

He is definitely a legend. Whether he played a hero, or a villain, he had that ability to give off good vibes or evil vibes with his facial expressions and had the skills to boot as well. RIP Chan Sing.
  20. Oh there was an update on this. The movie never got released because the Robert E. Howard estate threatened to sue GT for trademark infringement. Here's a video about it. And let's not forget White Tiger is now known as Death Fighter and it took so long because producer Karen Kaing had sued GT to get the film released until she finally won and got sole producer credit on the film.
  21. Here's a question, more of an opinion for everyone here. We all know the classic kung fu films dominated the 70's to the early 80's for the most part, with all the showings in theaters all over the place. When Bruce Lee made Enter the Dragon, it was the essential start of martial arts action films made in the U.S. (not counting the likes of Blood Under the Sun in the 40's per se with judo). I think from the late 70's to the late 90's could be considered the Golden Age of American Martial Arts Films. During that era, Norris, Seagal, Van Damme, Avedon, Wilson, Daniels, Chong, etc. all made a lot of martial arts action films whether they were released in theaters or straight to video. I'm thinking about it because we're getting the resurgence of that era with the likes of Scott Adkins and Isaac Florentine as well as those recent MMA films. But the Golden Age of AMA films I think were from the late 70's to late 90's. What would you guys say?
  22. From The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision: John Woo is remaking his classic action movie, The Killer, this time giving it a female twist. Lupita Nyong'o is in negotiations to star in the new project, which hails from Universal, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Woo will direct the movie, and will also produce with eOne’s Mark Gordon (Source Code, Saving Private Ryan) and Matt Jackson. Luc Etienne will executive produce. Describes by Universal as a “blistering thriller that blends espionage with extraordinary stunts," the remake centers on an assassin who is sworn to protect a young woman she accidentally blinded during a mob hit years prior. The original movie, made in 1989, was a landmark in the action genre. It helped introduce Woo to Western audiences and also continued to cement the star status of Chow Yun-Fat, who toplined as the assassin. Nyong'o will now slip into the role for the 21st century version. Production vp Sara Scott will oversee for Universal.
  23. Lupita Nyogo'o is no longer going to be The Killer. The script had gone through rewrites but Nyogo'o now has a schedule conflict, so she has departed. However, Woo is still going ahead with the film and is still going to cast a female in the role originated by Chow Yun-Fat. “The biggest reason why I wanted to do this movie again because [I wanted] ‘the killer’ to be a woman — that’s exciting to me. It will make the movie have a different look.” https://deadline.com/2019/11/john-woo-lupita-nyongo-the-killer-remake-face-off-reboot-comic-book-movies-martin-scorsese-1202787915/

The World According to Jeff Goldblum (2019)

The second episode is more fun...it's on ice cream and aside from a quick history lesson, Jeff got to meet the real Ben and Jerry as well as go to a place called Salt n' Serve, where he created his own special ice cream flavor, the Goldblum Ice Cream.
