Aren’t these fabulous! This may not be a great movie, but it is significant for the fact that Fu Sheng was directing and acting in it at the time of his passing. Everyone knows that “Eight Diagram Pole Fighter” was one of his final films, and “Wits of the Brats” often gets overlooked, but he was working on both of them at the time. Wong Jing and Lau Kar Wing finished the movie and it was released in May 1984. Fu Sheng so wanted to direct films, and at least part of this one shows his work.
Interestingly, the fifth photo as they appear here, is actually from “Legendary Weapons of China”. Fu Sheng wears such a similar costume in both films, that even the publicity department at Shaw Brothers got them confused, and this photo even appears in the IVL Celestial dvd gallery of “Wits of the Brats”, which was supplied by the Shaw film department. It is still a fun film, and the lobby cards are great.
Thanks for sharing these with us all.
