*TV listings are as fluid as a tai chi fighter and may change without notice. Channels may also vary schedules by region. Movie titles and dates are based on the channel listings and usually reflect US release versions. The scriptures say “the wise man always checks local listings”.
This is the week we have been waiting for my friends… The movies have finally picked up! First, though, let’s go over this week’s airings of WALKER, TEXAS RANGER. It is on Grit every night at 7:00, 8:00, 9:00 and 10:00 PM. If you are more of a morning person. WGN still shows it Monday through Thursday at 9:00, 10:00 and 11:00 AM.
Movies get a late start on Monday. Nothing is on until 4:00 PM when KICKBOXER (1989) shows on El Rey. They are following that up with TIMECOP (1994) at 6:00 PM and MORTAL KOMBAT (1995) at 8:00 PM. Tuesday starts at midnight with another showing of MORTAL KOMBAT and TIMECOP at 4:00 AM, both on El Rey. USA jumps into the fray with BLADE (1998) at 6:00 AM and BLADE: TRINITY (2004) at 8:30 AM. TNT closes out the day with THE MUMMY: TOMB OF THE DRAGON EMPEROR (2008) at 1:00 PM. Wednesday has nothing but TIMECOP at 10:00 PM on El Rey.
I know, I know, this is where you start thinking, “Hey! I thought you said the week was picking up!” yeah, I said that. Trust me, the week finishes out strong! El Rey runs Thursday with INVINCIBLE SHAOLIN (1978) at 4:00 PM, MARTIAL ARTS OF SHAOLIN (1986) at 6:00 PM, SHAOLIN PRINCE (1982) at 8:00 PM and FIVE SHAOLIN MASTERS (1974) at 10:00 PM. They keep it going into Friday with THE SHAOLIN AVENGERS (1976) at midnight and MARTIAL ARTS OF SHAOLIN (1986) at 4:00 AM. IFC has CRANK 2: HIGH VOLTAGE (2000) at 1:45 AM and the day closes out with BLADE (1998) at 4:30 PM on SyFy.
Saturday starts at 10:00 AM with KICKBOXER on El Rey, then BLADE at noon on SyFy. Of course, KICKBOXER II: THE ROAD BACK (1991) is on El Rey at noon, too. Then at 2:00 PM (you guessed it) KICKBOXER III: THE ART OF WAR (1992) is on El Rey, followed by by KICKBOXER 4: THE AGGRESSOR (1994) at 4:00 PM and KICKBOXER 5: THE REDEMPTION (1994) at 6:00 PM all on El Rey. Then they start over with KICKBOXER at 8:00 PM, KICKBOXER II at 10:00 PM (still on El Rey). Sunday starts with KICKBOXER III midnight, KICKBOXER 4 at 2:00 AM and KICKBOXER 5 at 4:00 AM (all on El Rey). El Rey runs the rest of the day with LEGENDARY WEAPONS OF CHINA (1982) at 10:00 AM, DIRTY HO (1976) at 12:15 PM, OPIUM AND THE KUNG FU MASTER (1984) at 2:15 PM, THE BLACK TAVERN (1972) at 4:15 PM, COME DRINK WITH ME (1966) at 6:00 PM and then they close out the week with TIMECOP at 8:00 PM.
Okay, it isn’t the best week ever, but things are picking up.
Especially if you like KICKBOXER movies!
