On the movie side of things, IFC kicks everything off at 12:15 AM Monday with MORTAL KOMBAT (1995) followed by MORTAL KOMBAT ANNIHILATION (1997) at 2:30 AM. Sony picks up the action at 11:25 AM with KICKBOXER 2: THE ROAD BACK (1991) followed by KICKBOXER 3: THE ART OF WAR (1992)at 1:05 PM and Sundance finishes off the day with a 9:00 PM showing of the original KARATE KID (1984).
Wednesday looks a whole lot like Tuesday, but a few new titles slip in the mix. Get TV offers up THE MASTER GUNFIGHTER (1975) at 1:30 AM before Sony airs KICKBOXER 4: THE AGGRESSOR at 4:05 AM and KICKBOXER 5: REDEMPTION at 5:45 AM. AMC is showing MARKED FOR DEATH (1990) at 10:00 AM and, honestly, I think you can make a fair argument that it is one of, if not the, best Seagal movies ever made. Sundance crane kicks its way back into the schedule with KARATE KID at 2:00 PM, KARATE KID PART II at 5:00 PM and KARATE KID PART III at 7:30 PM. USA puts a bow of Wednesday with KICKBOXER: VENGEANCE (2016), the KICKBOXER reboot, at 10:00 PM. They have already announced two sequels to this movie, by the way. KICKBOXER: RETALIATION, which has already been shot and should be out fairly soon and KICKBOXER: SYNDICATE to complete the trilogy. If you want to jump into the reboots but don’t want to watch USA’s edited version, KICKBOXER: VENGEANCE is on Netflix.
Thursday brings KARATE KID PART III again on Sundance at 2:55 AM. HDNet Movie is showing NOWHERE TO RUN (1993) at 7:10 AM before Sundance trots out KARATE KID again at 9:30 AM and KARATE KID PART II at 12:30 PM. El Rey has SHAOLIN AVENGERS (1976) at 3:00 PM and then CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON (2000) at 8:00 PM and FIVE DEADLY VENOMS (1978) at 10:30 PM. Sony rounds out the day with THE BIG HIT (1998) at 8:15 PM and again at 11:55 PM.
Friday brings some new titles to the week starting with KISS OF THE DRAGON (2001) at midnight on FXM (and again at 2:00 AM). El Rey is showing CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON again at 12:30 AM before KID WITH THE GOLDEN ARM (1979) at 3:00 AM. Sony is trotting out the Seagal vs vampire flick AGAINST THE DARK (2009) at 5:15 AM and following up with THE MASTER GUNFIGHTER at 9:10 AM. TCM is airing the historic Spencer Tracy film BAD DAY AT BLACK ROCK (1954) at 1:15 PM before FXX closes out the day early with 47 RONIN (2013) at 3:30 PM.
Saturday mixes up things a bit when AMC airs Jackie Chan’s PROJECT A (1983) at 4:00 AM. USA repeats KICKBOXER: VENGEANCE at 9:00 AM while Spike is showing THE EXPENDABLES (2010) at the same time. FXX is showing the Keanu Reeves’ 47 RONIN again at 11:00 AM and the day ends early with THE EXPENDABLES 3 (2014) on Spike at 11:30 AM.
Sunday is kind of slow, but at least sees more new entries into the week when El Rey plays ONE ARMED SWORDSMAN (1967) at 9:30 AM, RETURN OF THE ONE ARMED SWORDSMAN (1969) at noon, NEW ONE ARMED SWORDSMAN (1971) at 2:00 PM and CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON at 4:00 PM. HDNet closes out the week with the martial arts parody KUNG POW: ENTER THE FIST (2002) at 7:35 PM.
