What’s On TV This Week (March 6 – March 12)

*TV listings are as fluid as a tai chi fighter and may change without notice. Channels may also vary schedules by region. Movie titles and dates are based on the channel listings and usually reflect US release versions. The scriptures say “the wise man always checks local listings”.
Okay… This is a weird week. It isn’t overflowing with movies, but there are a decent amount… especially if you like the KICKBOXER films! What is weird is that a mainstay of martial arts viewing is pretty much disappearing. After weeks of WALKER, TEXAS RANGER being on multiple channels every single day, this week it is only on WGN and only on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with a single episode at 9:00 AM! If the adventures of the world’s most bad ass law enforcement officer were getting you through the week you are in for a rough ride!

Wednesday looks a whole lot like Tuesday, but a few new titles slip in the mix. Get TV offers up THE MASTER GUNFIGHTER (1975) at 1:30 AM before Sony airs KICKBOXER 4: THE AGGRESSOR at 4:05 AM and KICKBOXER 5: REDEMPTION at 5:45 AM. AMC is showing MARKED FOR DEATH (1990) at 10:00 AM and, honestly, I think you can make a fair argument that it is one of, if not the, best Seagal movies ever made. Sundance crane kicks its way back into the schedule with KARATE KID at 2:00 PMKARATE KID PART II at 5:00 PM and KARATE KID PART III at 7:30 PM. USA puts a bow of Wednesday with KICKBOXER: VENGEANCE (2016), the KICKBOXER reboot, at 10:00 PM. They have already announced two sequels to this movie, by the way. KICKBOXER: RETALIATION, which has already been shot and should be out fairly soon and KICKBOXER: SYNDICATE to complete the trilogy. If you want to jump into the reboots but don’t want to watch USA’s edited version, KICKBOXER: VENGEANCE is on Netflix.
