As the summer grows ever hotter and we approach the Fourth of July, we have a nice crop of movies this week… El Rey is running its “KaiJuly the Fourth Marathon”, though, so there are not the normal Sunday martial arts movies on El Rey (but if you love a good monster fight, you are in luck). The holidays are not affecting the martial arts shows, though. You still only get Chuck Norris in WALKER, TEXAS RANGER. It is on at 9:00, 10:00, and 11:00 AM Monday through Thursday on WGN. And if the Dish Network/Tribune dispute means you don’t have WGN right not, don’t worry because you can catch it weekdays at 2:00 and 3:00 AM, and 10:00 and 11:00 PM on Inspiration (with two more episodesSunday night at 8:00 PM).

Movies kick off a little late on Monday with THE MASTER GUNFIGHTER (1975) 3:05 PM Sony, followed by ENTER THE DRAGON (1973) on AMC and BLOODSPORT (1988) on El Rey, both at 4:00 PM. El Rey keeps up with the JCVD movies at 6:00 PM with STREETFIGHTER (1994) and KICKBOXER (1989) at 8:00 PM. Meanwhile, Sony brings out THE LAST DRAGON (1985) at 8:00 PM, and the night ends with KICKBOXER 2: THE ROAD BACK (1991) on El Rey at 10:00 PM. Tuesday continues the KICKBOXER saga with KICKBOXER 3: THE ART OF WAR (1992) at midnight, KICKBOXER 4: THE AGGRESSOR (1994) at 2:00 AM, and KICKBOXER 5: REDEMPTION (1994) at 4:00 PM, all on El Rey. Sony brings more JCVD action at 7:00 AM with UNIVERSAL SOLDIER: THE RETURN (1999).

Thursday brings El Rey’s weekly martial mayhem marathon. In fact everything Thursday in on El Rey except for BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA (1986) at 10:00 PM on HDNet Movies. KICKBOXER plays at 3:00 AM, then SHAOLIN AVENGERS (1976) at 4:00 PM, THE SAVAGE FIVE (1974) at 6:00 PM, THE SHAOLIN ABBOT (1979) at 8:00 PM and 11:45 PM, and SHAOLIN MANTIS (1978) plays at 9:45 PM and then kicks off Friday with another airing at 1:30 AM. The action continues with BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA at 1:45 AM on HDNet Movies, WARRIOR (2011) at 2:00 on Sundance and SHAOLIN TEMPLE (1976) at 3:30 AM on El Rey. Then you can get a little rest before BLADE(1998) hits SyFy at 4:00 PM and the day pulls to a close with BILLY JACK (1971) at 10:00 PM on Sony.

Saturday kicks off with THE TRIAL OF BILLY JACK (1974) on Sony at midnight, and then re-airings of BILLY JACK at 3:00 AM, and TRIAL OF BILLY JACK at 5:00 AM on Sony. The action picks back up in the afternoon with BLADE on Syfy and WARRIOR (2011) on Sundance, both at 1:30 PM. Sundance has ENTER THE DRAGON and TNT shows THE MUMMY: TOMB OF THE DRAGON EMPEROR (2008) at 6:30 PM. Saturday ends with more KICKBOXER, this time on Sundance. They have KICKBOXER at 9:00 PM, KICKBOXER 2: THE ROAD BACK at 11:15 PM, and KICKBOXER 3: THE ART OF WAR at 1:15 AM Sunday. They are then repeating the three with KICKBOXER at 3:15 AMKICKBOXER 2 at 6:00 AM, and KICKBOXER 3 at 8:00 AM.
