What’s On TV This Week (June 20 – June 26)

*TV listings are as fluid as a tai chi fighter and may change without notice. Channels may also vary schedules by region. The scriptures say “the wise man always checks local listings.”*

The summer is heating up so you might want to get outside and do some stuff… or stay inside and stay cool while you nurse your first sunburn of the year. Luckily, there are some great TV days this week and a couple with almost nothing worth watching. Like always, you have a near daily dose of WALKER: TEXAS RANGER on Inspiration. They run it weekdays at 10:00 and 11:00 PM as well as 2:00 and 3:00 AM with episodes on Sunday at 8:00 and 9:00 PM. If that isn’t enough Chuck Norris for you, then check out WGN for three more episodes Monday through Thursday, starting at 9:00 AM.

Movies kick off at midnight Monday with KICKBOXER (1989), followed by KICKBOXER 2: THE ROAD BACK (1991) at 2:00 AM, and KICKBOXER III: THE ART OF WAR (1992) at 4:00 AM, all on El Rey. El Rey picks back up in the afternoon with AMERICAN NINJA (1985) at 4:00 PM and AMERICAN NINJA II: THE CONFRONTATION (1987) at 6:00 PM, and HDNet Movies rounds out the day with a double dose of BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA (1986) at 8:00 PM, and again at 11:45 PM. If you love these ’80s and ’90s American martial arts films, by the way, then you are going to have a good week!

Tuesday only sees TAPPED OUT (2014) at 11:00 PM on Fuse.

Wednesday offers up REMO WILLIAMS: THE ADVENTURE BEGINS (1985) at 10:45 AM on MGM. El Rey brings the Van Dammage with CYBORG (1989) at 4:00 PM, and BLOODSPORT (1988) at 6:00 PM. Fuse plays TAPPED OUT again at 8:30 PM, then El Rey runs AMERICAN NINJA another time at 10:00 PM, and the day ends with THE WARRIOR’S WAY (2010) at 11:00 PM on SyFy.

Thursday is the pick day of the week, and it starts with El Rey following up that Wednesday night showing of AMERICAN NINJA with AMERICAN NINJA II: THE CONFRONTATION at midnight, and AMERICAN NINJA 3: BLOOD HUNT (1989) at 2:00 AM. Sony offers up UNIVERSAL SOLDIER: THE RETURN (1999) at 4:30 AM, and after that the action slows down until the afternoon. At 4:00 PM El Rey has THE WEB OF DEATH (1976) and then VALLEY OF THE FANGS (1970) at 6:00 PM. IFC has CRANK (2006) at 8:00 PM followed by CRANK 2: HIGH VOLTAGE (2009) at 10:00 PM. Meanwhile El Rey has WAY OF THE DRAGON (1972) at 8:00 PM and THE BIG BOSS (1971) at 10:00 PM, while Fuse jumps in at 10:00 PM, too, with STREET FIGHTER: THE LEGEND OF CHUN LI (2009).

The weekend is all pretty light on action. Friday sees WAY OF THE DRAGON at 12:15 AM, THE BIG BOSS at 2:15 AM and THE DRAGON MISSILE (1976) at 4:30 AM all on El Rey. Later, Fuse is showing STREET FIGHTER: THE LEGEND OF CHUN LI at 8:00 PM, and NINJA ASSASSIN (2009) at 11:00 PM.

Saturday just sees another showing of NINJA ASSASSIN on Fuse at 8:30 PM, and Sunday brings the week to a close with TAPPED OUT at 12:30 AM, also on Fuse.
