The conclusion of another TOP 5 survey has been completed. The Disciples have spoken, and submitted their TOP 5 David Chiang films of ALL TIME! Considering DC made a plethora of Shaw Brothers films, it is not surprising that the final list comprises of almost ALL SB films. In fact, only 1 non-SB film made the list, and deservedly so I might add. Even before viewing the list, I bet most of you would correctly guess what the non-SB movie is. As usual, I must thank all of you who took the time to submit your TOP 5 list, after all, without your support and input, these lists could not be made, so again, Thank You!

Now for the list of the TOP 5 David Chiang films as voted on by the SC36 disciples:

The number #1 film, I am not surprised, but I feel it really could of gone a few different ways. ‘Shaolin Mantis’ really does stand out, but DC has been in so many great films for the Shaw Brothers studio, any of his others listed on the list, also could of been placed at the #1 spot. As far as the only non-SB film on the list, ‘The Loot’, you’re damn right it made the list, as it should have, at least that is how I feel.

Here is a list of honorable mentions:

  • The Wandering Swordsman (1970)
  • Five Shaolin Masters (1974)
  • The Blood Brothers (1973)
  • Seven Man Army (1976)
  • The Challenger (1979)

So, what do you think of the list, have you seen ‘Shaolin Mantis’ and weren’t too impressed with it, and possibly even feel it should not have been voted as the #1 DC film? Please feel free to leave a comment below to state your opinion, thank you.
