Buddha’s Name Be Praised [Full-Zip Hoodie]

Though kung fu cinema is most commonly thought of as a way to see extremely skilled fighters beating the stuffing out of one another, the best examples of the genre offer a bit more- something deeper. In these instances there are often lessons of using one's skills for good, and treating one's fellow men and women with respect and compassion. A perfect example is found in the teachings of the Shaolin monks. Originally "kung fu" was simply considered a physical exercise, taught to the frail monks by Bodhidharma to help their bodies stay as healthy as their spirits. Eventually these movements became famous as fighting techniques that were extremely effective. When forced to use these skills to protect themselves, help others, or to vanquish evil, the monks would often utter this phrase afterwards- "Buddha's name be praised."
